Firstly, I would request you not to call me "sir" -I'm also a person like you only. Please call me as your colleague-sree...

Now, regarding Parayan-Parayan of any scriptures- whether it is Bible, Khoran, Mahabharath-we are traversing through that era, through those characters, through the Good and evils of those scriptures. It will highlight what is good and what is bad.It will teach us what we have to adopt and what we have to reject, it will show us the path what we have to follow and what we have to deject, it will will show us whose guidance we have to accept and whose guidance we have to disregard.

Sri Sai Satcharitra is also like that only. We are under the clout of selfishness, greedness, jealousy and corruption. To lead a life which will be useful and attached with the society and other living creatures, we need to accept and absorb in a Sadguru. We, those who believe and trust in SAI BABA have decided to live with the advises of Sai Baba, spread His messages and see Him in other creatures.
And Sri Sai Satcharitra is a gateway for doing the same.

By doing the Prayan of Sai Satcharitra, we are able to understand about a Great Soul who lived for other creature, who spent His life for the welfare of other living beings, who corrected the wrong douings and who lead the essentials to the correct path.

Sai Satcharitra is the passage to knowledge, correction and humanity. It take you to the heighest of all heights in your life.It will acquire all those things what you could acquire in your births. It is our soul and life.It is our food and water. It is our breath and breathlessness.

So treat it as a medicine needed to preserve our life.
Give the required respect for Sri Sai Satcharitra and treat Prayan of the same as a hallmark of endings of our calamities.

Reading Sai baba's leelas instills faith in us and we get the result as per our faith.

SSC is a holy book which is to be read regularly by every Sai devotee..as we can't do Parayan always,atleast in a group we can read one chapter every week.

SSC had been started during Sai baba's lifetime with HIS permission and blessings.

He will get the reward according to his faith and devotion. Without these, there will be no experience of any kind. If you read this respectfully, Sai will be pleased, and removing you ignorance and poverty, He will give you knowledge, wealth and prosperity.
With concentrated mind, if you read a Chapter daily, it will give you unbounded happiness. One who has his welfare at heart, should study it carefully and then he will ever remember Sai gratefully and joyfully in birth after birth. This work should be read at home specially on Guru-Pournima (Ashadha full-moon day), Gokul-Ashtami, Rama-Navami and Dasara (Baba's anniversary day). If you study this one book carefully, all your desires will be satisfied and if you always remember Sai's Feet in your heart, you will easily cross the Bhava (Samsar) sagar. By its study, the diseased and sick will get health, the poor wealth, the mean and afflicted prosperity, and the mind will get rid of all ideas and get steadiness.

Sai baba has taught us that HE is our Guide and will lead us to the right path.

Sai baba's Masjid which he named Dwarkamai was open to all,dogs,cats,crows,lizards,also lame,blind ,Poor man,Rich man and able bodied persons,all were treated with the same graciousness and courtesy.

One should think that Parayan is for one's own benefit and in our busy schedule if someone try to inspire us to do Parayan, we should try to co-operate with him. BABA himself had told that by reading or by hearing His Leelas, one will be free from his sin,happiness will be showered on him and his wishes will be fufilled. Till date, BABA's advises lead us and remove all hurdles of our life.

Why can't we spend little time in uttering His name and Leelas?

Parayan of Scriptures fill our mind with divine thoughts, if it is done with proper devotion. BABA, even after His Mahasamadhi is a God in action. If we call Him once, He will respond ten times. So Parayan of SSC will bring enormous happiness and peace to a person.

If some one expect immediate effect of Paran, then he is wrong. It is a gradual process. We should keep patience and carry on the Parayan, defenitely results will be there.

Dis-continuing Parayan is of no help to solve one's problems. Rather it will complicate it more. So, with a calm mind, do the Parayan with devotion and see the results....

Defenitely BABA is with all of us... BABA live through us....

How Does Shri Sai Satcharitra Parayan Work?

I have penned down my thoughts on a certain act of worship that most of us follow in our daily lives here. I would be happy to read about other devotee’s thoughts and additions to this.

How reading Shri Sai Satcharitra or any Holy book for that matter would ease our burden and misery and grant us 'salvation'. The merit of Satsang cannot be described, I have heard. But how does this company of the saints ['sat'] destroy our problems that we face in our daily life?

Problem is a problem only when we think about it. When it is out of our mind [for example, in deep sleep] it is no longer a problem. Immersing ourselves in these sacred stories takes our mind away from our worries and fears [at least for those few hours] and relieves us of our stress. Secondly, the characters and circumstances in these stories, that we often read, are no different from what we face in our daily lives even today. We can easily relate to those characters and whatever advice or solution that the Saint or God gave them holds good in our case also. That is why, when we open the Shri Sai Satcharitra for our problems we feel Sri Sai is talking to us through that book and thus we learn our lessons.

The most common advice offered to all those people [who went to Him with problems] is 'Cast your burden on Me. I will take care of everything' How easy it sounds and yet how difficult to practice in daily life! This single advice, when followed, will teach us the meaning of Trust and Surrender. Where there is Trust, there Surrender will come naturally and where there is Surrender, Peace will come to stay. When we entrust something to our friend or parents or spouse, who we know will do it to perfection, we will no longer worry about it anymore and what more, we will only be glad we have them in this life.

How do we develop habits? When we are accustomed to doing something again and again. The same thing, applies here also. When we read these stories again and again, even unconsciously we imbibe the essence of His teachings. So next time we face a tough time, we know how Sri Sai would advice us to act. We would have the silent but a constant urge to make Him feel proud of us [i.e., strive to practice His teachings].We learn to accept rather than question Him 'why me?'
This is the secret to salvation, and the greatest miracle that these readings can perform is this change in attitude or outlook that it brings about in us. The greatest devotees that our scriptures talk about were not rich or happy in all respects. They were those who saw God in everything - in their happiness and in their misery. This sameness of vision alone made them great and this is what the company of a saint would offer.

Some people might tend to call things like this 'blind faith'. When we are in distress we cry to Him, 'I do not know how, but if at all someone can pull me out of this hell, it is only You. You are my only refuge.' Do we then care to see any logic as to how He is going to perform the impossible? What is it that we have then?

Faith - Faith in His Name, Faith in His Mantra, Faith in His words and blind only to the ways in which His Grace would work [which is impossible for the human mind to fathom anyway]. I firmly believe that anything done with Faith will bring its own rewards.

Faith must trample under foot all sense, reason and understanding. May Sri Sai bless all His children with Faith and Patience.
