Default Power of Prayer

Om Sri Sai Ram

A poorly dressed lady with a look of defeat on her face, walked into a grocery store. She approached the owner of the store in a most humble manner and asked if he would let her charge a few groceries.

She softly explained that her husband was unable to work, they had seven children and they needed food.

John Longhouse, the grocer, scoffed at her and requested that she leave his store.

Visualizing the family needs, she said: "Please, sir! I will bring you
the money just as soon as I can." John told her he could not give her credit, as she did not have a charge account at his store.

Standing beside the counter was a customer who overheard the
conversation between the two. The customer walked forward and told the grocer that he would stand good for whatever she needed for her family.

The grocer said in a very reluctant voice, "Do you have a grocery
list?" Louise replied, "Yes sir."

"O.K." he said, "put your grocery list on the scales and whatever your grocery list weighs, I will give you that amount in groceries."

Louise, hesitated a moment with a bowed head, then she reached into her purse, took out a piece of paper, and scribbled something.

She then laid the piece of paper on the scale carefully with her head still bowed.

The eyes of the grocer and the customer showed the amazement they felt when the scales went down and stayed down.

The grocer, staring at the scales, turned slowly to the customer and said be grudgingly, "I can't believe it."
The customer smiled and the grocer started putting the groceries on the other side of the scales. The scale did not balance. So he
continued to put more and more groceries on them until the scales would hold no more. The grocer stood there in utter disgust.
Finally, he grabbed the piece of paper from the scales and looked at it with greater amazement.

It was not a grocery list. It was a prayer which said: "Dear Lord, you know my needs and I am leaving this in your hands".

The grocer gave her the groceries that he had gathered and stood in stunned silence. Louise thanked him and left the store.

The customer handed a fifty-dollar bill to the grocer and said, "It
was worth every penny of it."

Only God Knows how much a prayer weighs.

POWER OF PRAYER: When you receive this, say a prayer.

Default Power of Prayer

Om Sai Ram!!!

God does not hear us because of the length of our prayers, but because of the sincerity of it. Prayer is not to be measured by the yard nor weight by the pound. It is the might and force of it - the truth and reality of it - the energy and the intensity of it.

Default Power of Prayer

om sai ram ....
i feel that prayers can do miracles .......but one thing which is v. important that The prayers should be absolutely selfless. It is necessary that the idea of personal relationship should be removed when such prayers are offered. When such relationship is kept up, the prayer becomes slightly tinged with selfishness and loses its value. We must offer prayers for all souls with an impartial attitude. Only then willit be extremely powerful and bring the desired result. We offer prayers not because we want anything in return for the prayers, but because we wish to see everyone happy
When collective prayer is done, when all people sit together and pray for the sake of the all souls, it brings peace to everyone in this world ....
We are all one, ......ham sab baba ka hi ek ansh hai ...so each should be grateful to the other; each should pray for the other; each should wish the good and happiness of the other, so that the whole universe will be a heaven of peace.
baba bless all the universe ......
amen

Default Power of Prayer

How powerful is it?

The power of prayer should not be underestimated. James 5:16-18 declares, "…The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective. Elijah was a man just like us. He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years. Again he prayed, and the heavens gave rain, and the earth produced its crops." God most definitely listens to prayers, answers prayers, and moves in response to prayers.

Jesus taught, "…I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you" (Matthew 17:20). 2 Corinthians 10:4-5 tells us, "The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ." The Bible urges us, "And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints"

Default Power of Prayer

How do I tap into it?

The power of prayer is not the result of the person praying. Rather, the power resides in the God who is being prayed to. 1 John 5:14-15 tells us, "This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us - whatever we ask - we know that we have what we asked of him." No matter the person praying, the passion behind the prayer, or the purpose of the prayer - God answers prayers that are in agreement with His will. His answers are not always yes, but are always in our best interest. When our desires line up with His will, we will come to understand that in time. When we pray passionately and purposefully, according to God's will, God responds powerfully!

We cannot access powerful prayer by using "magic formulas." Our prayers being answered is not based on the eloquence of our prayers. We don't have to use certain words or phrases to get God to answer our prayers. In fact, Jesus rebukes those who pray using repetitions, "And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him" (Matthew 6:7-8). Prayer is communicating with God. All you have to do is ask God for His help. Psalm 107:28-30 reminds us, "Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble, and he brought them out of their distress. He stilled the storm to a whisper; the waves of the sea were hushed. They were glad when it grew calm, and he guided them to their desired haven." There is power in prayer!

Default Power of Prayer

For what kind of things should I pray?

God's help through the power of prayer is available for all kinds of requests and issues. Philippians 4:6-7 tells us, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." If you need an example of a prayer, read Matthew 6:9-13. These verses are known as the Lord's prayer. The Lord's prayer is not a prayer we are supposed to memorize and simply recite to God. It is only an example of how to pray and the things that should go into a prayer - worship, trust in God, requests, confession, protection, etc. Pray for these kinds of things, but speak to God using your own words.

The Word of God is full of accounts describing the power of prayer in various situations. The power of prayer has overcome enemies (Psalm 6:9-10), conquered death (2 Kings 4:3-36), brought healing (James 5:14-15), and defeated demons (Mark 9:29). God, through prayer, opens eyes, changes hearts, heals wounds, and grants wisdom (James 1:5). The power of prayer should never be underestimated because it draws on the glory and might of the infinitely powerful God of the universe! Daniel 4:35 proclaims, "All the peoples of the earth are regarded as nothing. He does as he pleases with the powers of heaven and the peoples of the earth. No one can hold back his hand or say to him: 'What have you done?'"

Default Power of Prayer

OM SAINATHAYA NAMAH:

God is great and His grace is equally great. We can receive His grace through Prayer only.Prayer is the canal connecting us to the ocean of grace. The strength of Prayer lies in our sincerity. Sincere Prayers never go in vain.God answers our Prayers, but sometimes He seems to delay a little. In fact, He is never late. He is always on time. But in our anguish and impatience, we feel that our demand of quick response is not being catered to. So
instead of being anxious we should Pray with utmost patience. Since He knows all about us,all that we have to do is to Pray and wait. God's delays are not His denials.

Prayer does not mean that sitting in a room for a few minutes muttering some verses from a prayer book. Prayer means pouring out our heart to God. God listens to the plea from the
heart and not from the lips. Our hearts must feel while our lips pray. Sincere feeling makes our prayers fruitful.

Prayer does not have any hard and fast rule as regards the method. We can pray in any manner we like. It is just like talking to our mother or father, asking them for what we want.Actually God is nearer and dearer to us than our parents. But one should know and feel thisintimacy from the bottom of the heart.

TRUE PRAYER

An unknown author penned these words:

I asked God to take away my pride. God said, "No. It is not for me to take away, but for you to give it up."

I asked God to make my handicapped child whole. God said, "No. Her spirit is whole, her body is only temporary."

I asked God to grant me patience. God said, "No. Patience is a by-product of tribulations; it isn't granted, it is earned."

I asked God to give me happiness. God said, "No. I give you blessings, happiness is up to you."

I asked God to spare me pain. God said, "No. Suffering draws you apart from worldly cares and brings you closer to me."

I asked God to make my spirit grow. God said, "No. You must grow on your own, but I will prune you to make you fruitful."

I asked for all things that I might enjoy life. God said, "No. I will give you life so that you may enjoy all things."

I asked God to help me love others, as much as God loves me. God said... "Ahhhh, finally you have the idea!"

Someone accurately said that maturity in prayer occurs when we are able to move from the plea, "Give me..." to the deeper prayer, "Use me."

Prayer is a form of communication, a way of talking to God.......

THE SAME HAND..
By:Mother Teresa

The same loving hand that has created you has created me.
If he is your Father he must be my Father also.
We all belong to the same family.
Hindus, Muslims and all peoples are our brothers & sisters.
They too are the children of God.
Our work among the Hindus proclaims that God loves them.
God has created them -- they are my brothers & sisters.
Naturally I would like to give them the joy of what I believe,
but that I cannot do; only God can.
Faith is a gift of God, but God does not force himself.
Christians, Muslims, Hindus, believers & nonbelievers,
have the same opportunity with us to do works of love,
have the same opportunity with us to share the joy of
loving and come to realize God's presence.

Hindus become better Hindus.
Catholics become better Catholics.
Muslims become better Muslims.

Note: the meaning is very simple ... no matter what religion we believe.....
we are all brothers and sisters.....

Om Sai Ram!!!

Prayer doesn't need proof, it needs practice.

True prayer is a way of life, not an emergency.

You do not need many words to open your heart to BABA.
